How To Be Saved
We are truly, richly blessed! We live in a world filled with beautiful wonders and amazing creatures. Stunning landscapes cover various parts of the earth, gorgeous flowers and plant-life fill the ground, and absolutely wondrous stars sweep across the sky, painting us the most beautiful picture. Of course, any physical blessing pales in comparison to the rich gift of Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, and the many wonderful spiritual blessings that we have through Him!
However, in order to partake of the spiritual blessings that God offers us, one must become a child of God. To inherit eternal salvation - eternal life - one must be obedient to God and a follower of Christ: one needs to be a Christian! So how can one be saved? There are a number of steps one must take and they are:
Before one can believe and have faith you must hear the Word. A person must first be taught the scriptures, read and study
the scriptures for themselves, and come to realize what the Bible actually says.
John 6:28-29 "Then they said to Him, 'What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?'
Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe Him whom He sent."
We must believe in Jesus Christ and realize that He is the Great Saviour and is the Son of God. It is only through Jesus
Christ that we can be saved, inheriting eternal salvation.
2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of
the world produces death."
When we have realized that we are sinners and are seperate from God we need to feel that godly sorrow; we must be sorry
for the sinful acts we have committed. And from that sorrow we repent of the sins that we have done. This repentance leads
us to salvation - it is a required step to be saved!
Romans 10:9 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him
from the dead, you will be saved."
To be saved, one must confess that Jesus is the Son of God and is risen from the dead. It must be a true confession that is
backed up by belief and faith.
Mark 16:16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."
This step is just as important as the ones above for salvation, but is often dismissed by others. To be saved one must have an
active faith, and be obedient, for "faith without works is dead" (James 2:26). To be saved we must be baptized - immersed
completely in water. We are baptized into Christ's death (Romans 6:3) and rise up as a new Christian!
