He is Risen
But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” Matthew 28:5-7
Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’” Luke 24:5-7
Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
Let us always remember that even though Jesus suffered and died on the cross, sacrificing Himself for our salvation, we have a live Saviour. He is risen up and sits at the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 1:3; 12:2).
Christ has become the “firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” - the first to conquer death, rising up from the grave (1 Corinthians 15:20). And it is in Christ Jesus that we too can be made alive, overcoming death (1 Corinthians 15:22).
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40
It is the will of the Father in heaven that we too will be risen up, conquering death. Through Jesus we can truly be alive. Being cleansed in the blood of Christ, we can have that great hope of eternal life with Him.
How wonderful it is to realize that we have a living Saviour who is working to help us. He makes intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25), acts as our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5), and is our Advocate (1 John 2:1). Jesus is alive and actively working on our behalf. Those who are obedient to Christ, following the will of God, have the greatest blessing of Jesus Christ and the forgiveness of sins through Him!
